Good ear and hearing health is important to people of all ages and helps us get the most out of life. Our hearing can be affected by many factors, including age, the build-up of wax and the misuse of cotton buds and in-ear headphones. If our ability to hear deteriorates it requires more energy to listen and participate in daily life so we become tired and, in some cases, socially withdrawn. iPharms Ear Microsection service utilises advanced hearing technology by TympaHealth to painlessly remove wax build up in your ears.

How to book an appointment | Where are we located | How much does the service cost?

Our ear wax removal service is available in our St. Helens-based pharmacy from £50 for one ear or both for £65. Ear Microsuction FAQs

In preparation for the procedure, use olive oil to soften the ear wax in your ears. You should do this twice a day starting 2 or 3 days prior to your appointment. We recommend Earol spray for the best results.
In order to prevent infection, you will be advised to keep your ears dry for the next 24 hours after your appointment. This includes getting water into your ears while bathing, showering or swimming. To prevent further build-up of compacted wax and keep the ear canal healthy, you will also be advised to use olive oil spray in your ears fortnightly.
If you have had recent ear surgery, a history of ear drum perforation, or the trauma to ear canal, please speak with our team of professionals who will be happy to discuss any questions you may have.
Our microsuction earwax removal service uses a small vacuum to safely and gently remove stubborn earwax.
Symptoms may include:
- Loss of hearing
- Earache
- Tinnitus (ringing/buzzing in the ear)
- Ear feeling full
Some causes include:
- Narrow ear canals
- Damaged ear canals
- Inflammation of ear canals
- The use of hearing aids, ear plugs, or earphones
- The use of cotton swabs in the ear
Microsuction should not cause any pain or discomfort. However, The procedure can sound relatively noisy.
