About Medicated Weight Loss Service - Mounjaro

What is the Medicated Weight Loss Service? | How does it work?

The Medicated Weight Loss service provided by iPharm is designed to help you lose weight in a healthy and sustainable way. Our team will assess your current health and lifestyle situation to ensure that our medicated weight loss program is the best option for you, if approved, you will be prescribed medical treatment which in this case is Mounjaro.

Mounjaro is an anti-obesity medication that works by helping to regulate blood sugar levels and reduce appetite. It contains the active ingredient tirzepatide, which mimics the action of two hormones (GLP-1 and GIP) that help control hunger and food intake. By reducing appetite and increasing feelings of fullness, Mounjaro can help you eat less and lose weight when combined with a calorie-controlled diet and regular exercise. It is typically administered as a weekly injection

How does this service work? | What do I have to do?

Our online service is simple – start by selecting your preferred treatment and then answer a series of questions regarding your lifestyle, medical history, and symptoms. Once you've placed your order, our clinical team will then assess the suitability of the chosen treatment/medication and if that’s all approved, we’ll send your medicine(s) out to you!

If it is suitable, you will be prescribed Mounjaro (tirzepatide) injections:

  • Mounjaro is administered once a week via subcutaneous injection (under the skin)

  • The injection can be given in areas such as the abdomen, thigh, or in the back of your upper arm (if administered in the upper arm, it is recommended another person injects this for you).

  • Your prescription will start with a dosage of 2.5mg and gradually (after four weeks) increase to 5mg.

  • Mounjaro should be used alongside a calorie-controlled diet and regular exercise for the best results

Mounjaro is typically prescribed for long-term weight management and can be continued as long as it remains effective, helping you achieve and maintain weight loss when used as part of a healthy lifestyle.

Yes, this service is completely online, even the consultation.
You may be eligible for Mounjaro if:

Your BMI is 27 or higher, and you have weight-related health conditions such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, or high cholesterol

OR

Your BMI is 30 or higher, regardless of other conditions
Mounjaro can be taken for as long as it remains effective and well-tolerated. Typically, it is prescribed for long-term weight management. If you have lost at least 5% of your body weight after about 3 months of treatment, this indicates that the medication is working, and it can continue. However, if there is no significant weight loss or if any issues arise, your healthcare provider may adjust or stop the treatment.
The most common side effects of Mounjaro may include:

Nausea

Vomiting

Diarrhoea

Constipation

Abdominal pain or discomfort

Loss of appetite

Indigestion or bloating

These side effects are generally mild to moderate and may improve as your body adjusts to the medication. If any side effects become severe or persist, it's important to contact your healthcare provider.
It is not enough to simply take Mounjaro – for the best results, you must also combine the treatment with a healthy lifestyle. This includes:

A balanced, calorie-controlled diet

Regular physical activity

Mounjaro works most effectively when used as part of a comprehensive weight management plan, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle is key to achieving long-term success and sustainable weight loss. Your healthcare provider may also offer support with nutrition and exercise to help you meet your weight loss goals.
